A Heartfelt Thank You to Our School Administration and Support Staff

Behind every successful school day is a dedicated team of administration staff who work tirelessly to keep everything running smoothly. From managing communications and coordinating schedules to handling enrolments, finances, and supporting both staff and students, their roles are diverse and vital.

This being SASS week, we would especially like to acknowledge Cath, Amanda, and Patricia in the front office; Bec in the library; Alicia managing technology; Kethes our General Assistant; and Mim, Miranda, Thelma, and Christina who support student learning. Each of these wonderful individuals contributes uniquely to the smooth operation and positive environment of our school.

Their efforts often go unseen but are deeply appreciated by the entire school community. Thank you all for being the backbone of our school and for everything you do each day!

    Congratulations!

Well done Evie on receiving a banner for consistently meeting our school values of being safe, respectful, kind, and an active learner. Evie has demonstrated a strong commitment to our values and sets a positive example for her peers. An excellent achievement!

    Father's Day Shootout - reminder

Just a reminder that the Father's Day shootout is on this Friday morning. All the details are in the P&C section below.

    Week 7 Update

    Transition to High School Program

Year 6 were visited by the Year 7 advisors from Rose Bay Secondary College this week. They spoke to students about the timetable, support available and many extracurricular activities on offer at RBSC. Students had plenty of opportunity to ask questions and they filled out a personal profile to help their new teachers get to know them. This visit is part of the transition to high school program and supports Year 6 students to prepare for the upcoming changes.

    SRC Semester 2

Congratulations to the students who were elected by their classmates to represent them on the Student Representative Council for Semester 2. They have been presented with their badges and have been meeting this term to provide student voice and work on the projects planned for the second part of the year.

Stage 2 English – Bringing Characters to Life

This term in English, Year 4 students have been diving into the idea of characterisation through the novel The Callers. To wrap up the unit, students imagined and created their own characters for a sequel – Callers 2. As part of the task, they combined their writing skills with technology by using Canva AI. After writing a description of their character, they entered it into the program, which generated an image of their character in real time. They then had the opportunity to modify the description or add detail to make the image more accurate. It was a fun and inspiring way for students to see their ideas come to life while also building on their ICT skills.

    Sport

    Zone Athletics Success

Congratulations to Emmeline for an exceptional performance at the Zone Athletics Carnival, winning five events in the 11 year old girls division: 100m, 200m, High Jump, Long Jump, and 4 x 100m Relay (as part of the school team).  Her achievements earned her the title of Age Champion. Well done Emmeline!

Emmeline will now represent the school at the upcoming Regional Athletics Carnival, along with Etta, Romy, Franca, Caitlin, Manning and George R. We wish the whole team the best of luck as they take on the next level of competition.

    Father’s Day Morning – Friday 5 September

We can’t wait to celebrate our rad dads and father figures this Friday! The forecast is looking clear, perfect for Bowlo Rollo, the basketball shootout, and plenty of fun for the whole school community.

Raffle tickets are on sale now via Qkr! or the old-fashioned way on the morning. We’ve got fantastic prizes from our generous local business community, with the draw live at 8:30am.

A yummy breakfast supplied by Depot will be available to purchase, the perfect start to the day!

We’d still love a few extra hands to help out. Shifts are short and easy, and the kids love seeing their parents get involved.

    Fathers Day Volunteers

    See you Friday morning!

Parents’ Battle of the Bands wrap!

🎸 Big shout-out to our rockstar parent band The Distractions for absolutely smashing it at last week’s Parents’ Battle of the Bands. Huge congratulations to Bondi Public School who took out the win this year - but don’t worry, we’ll be back next year to challenge!

💛 Thank you to everyone who came out to cheer them on. A portion of the ticket sales will go straight back into supporting our school music programs.

Check out our BBPS P&C Instagram for photos of The Distractions in action!
