School Newsletter Week 4 Term 4
From the Relieving Principal
Kindergarten 2026 Welcome
This morning, we were delighted to greet our new kindergarten students for their first orientation session. The Year 5 students were eager to meet their new kindy buddies and the children thoroughly enjoyed participating in the activities in the kindergarten classroom. Parents were able to relax and connect over morning tea hosted by the P&C, featuring pastries and coffee kindly supplied by Depot. The Hive also conducted tours of their facilities for parents interested in enrolling their children for vacation care or the new school year. The morning finished with a picnic on the grass for our new families. We look forward to welcoming the children back for the next orientation sessions on Tuesday, 18 November, and Tuesday, 2 December.
If you have a child starting kindergarten in 2026 and have not yet enrolled them, please get in touch with the office.

Congratulations!
What a pleasure to present Alfie in Year 4 with his banner for consistently meeting the school expectations of being a safe, kind, respectful and active learner. Alfie has accumulated 3 Gold awards, 9 Silver Awards and 27 blue awards to reach a banner.
School Counsellor Recognition Day
This Friday is School Counsellor and School Psychologist Recognition Day when we recognize the essential role these professionals play in supporting the emotional, social, and academic well-being of students and their families. The 2025 theme is "Together, We Grow," which emphasizes the importance of connection, collaboration, and care. A big thank you to our school counsellor, Dallas Ward, for his thoughtful encouragement and consistent helping of our students to feel seen and supported, and for reaching out beyond the school to support our families.

Thank you P&C!
A big thank you to the P&C and the Depot for providing lunch for the teachers last Friday in recognition of World Teachers' Day. It was a delicious meal, much enjoyed and greatly appreciated by the staff.

Week 4 Update
Sculptures by the Sea
Last week, our Year 3 and 4 students enjoyed an excursion to Sculptures by the Sea. Students explored a wide variety of creative and thought provoking sculptures displayed along the coastal walk and in Marks Park. They took part in art appreciation activities, discussing the artists’ materials and techniques while reflecting on their own interpretations. It was a wonderful opportunity to take part in a great event in our local area.

Congratulations Ophelia!
We’re thrilled to share that Ophelia has made it through to the Regional Poetry Slam Competition on Monday 17 November. She will take to the stage to recite her original poem alongside finalists from across the region. What an incredible achievement. Well done, Ophelia! To view her submission, please see link below.
Kindergarten Mathematics
We’ve been learning all about halves in mathematics. We folded, cut, and shared paper shapes, playdough, and other objects to find two equal parts. We discovered that to make a fair half, both parts must be the same size. It was lots of fun exploring and sharing equally.

Let’s Keep the Fundraising Fun Going!
Our Colour Run fundraising is in full swing and it’s been amazing to see so many students getting involved. Let’s keep encouraging our kids to think creatively about how they can earn donations - maybe by clearing the table after dinner, packing their own school bag for a week, or walking the dog without being asked. Every little effort helps them feel proud of their contribution and brings us closer to that first milestone - Crazy Hair Day!
Right now, 1T is in the lead, closely followed by 2W and 3R. Let’s see if we can shake up the leaderboard this week!
Our P&C AGM is coming up on Tuesday 11 November at 7pm. School Staff Room. All are welcome.
Our wonderful Secretary Linda is standing down as her lovely family is leaving our school. If you are interested in the role and or have questions please reach out to me at president@bbpspandc.org.au or just say hi when you see me around.
