BBPS Celebrates Grandparents' Day!
Yesterday, we opened our school for grandparents and other significant people to come along and join in some of the classroom activities. It was a pleasure to see the excitement of our students as they engaged with grandparents in the literacy and numeracy activities that normally fill our mornings. Afterwards, they had an opportunity to explore the book fair in the hall, have the books signed by the visiting authors, and enjoy treats from the Year 6 cake stall. Our choir and recorder ensemble provided light entertainment for our visitors as they browsed. The morning was a great hit with everyone and we sincerely thank all those who joined us and contributed to making the event a memorable one.

Grandparents' Day Book Fair
Thank you to everyone who came along to support our Book Fair yesterday! It was wonderful to see families browsing together and celebrating a love of reading. Students enjoyed meeting Clayton Zane Combe, Conor McCammon, Emily Carroll and Carla Hoffenberg who signed books and shared their creative process. We are so grateful for all the donations to our school library. A big thank you to Gertrude and Alice Bookshop and our school community for making the event such a success!

World Teachers’ Day Friday 31 October
World Teachers’ Day is a special opportunity to recognise and celebrate the incredible dedication and contributions of teachers around the globe. It’s held annually and commemorates the anniversary of the adoption of the 1996 UNESCO recommendation concerning the status of teachers which sets benchmarks regarding the rights and responsibilities of teachers and standards for teaching and learning conditions.
This year, World Teachers' Day is being celebrated in NSW on Friday 31 October. It’s a day to celebrate the 170 000 primary, secondary and early childhood teachers in NSW - their passion, commitment, and hard work in fostering student learning and growth. A big thank you to the P&C for providing lunch to our staff on Friday in honour of our wonderful educators.
Week 3 Update
Maths Olympiad
Each year students in Stages 2 and 3 are invited to participate in a mathematical problem solving competition throughout the year. Students are engaged in challenges that promote creativity and flexibility while encouraging collaboration and team work. Congratulations to all the students who participated and completed the 4 tests. A special congratulations to Koby in Stage 3 and Phoenix in Stage 2 who achieved the highest scores in each group.

Year 5 and 6 English
During English lessons, students in Years 5 and 6 have been studying the text Queenie in Seven Moves by Zanni Louise. They wrote informative texts about the author and explored the inspirations behind her writing. Using Canva, students published their work as professional-looking fact sheets that showcased their research and design skills.
