School Newsletter Week 10 Term 3
From the Relieving Principal
That’s a Wrap on Term 3!
Another busy and productive term has just flown past. As we reflect on all we’ve celebrated and achieved, it’s clear that Term 3 has been full of highlights. We enjoyed Education Week, Science Week, Book Week, and the excitement of Cath’s Cup. Our performing arts groups have competed in eisteddfods, performed at the Opera House, and entertained crowds at the Festival of the Winds. Meanwhile, our PSSA teams wrapped up a successful season of competitive sport, with several teams finishing in the top three. Our Year 6 students have just headed off to a three day camp.
In addition to a packed term of teaching and learning, our staff have completed the External Validation process, continued to embed the English and maths curricula and begun familiarisation of the new creative arts and science syllabuses.
And our parent body has been busy - organising the highly successful City2Surf and Father's Day events. It’s been a term of great effort and achievement, and I think we’re all entitled to feel a little proud—and perhaps a little tired!
We hope everyone enjoys a well-deserved, restful break and returns refreshed for Term 4.
Please note: Classes will resume on Tuesday, 14 October, marking a change from last year when Term 4 began on a Monday.
Citizenship Awards
Congratulations to the Term 3 Citizenship Award winners. The recipients are Cleo, Louie and Lily from Kindergarten. Maya, Matilda and Annika from Year 1. Flor, Fiona and Chloe from Year 2. Rosie, George, Max and Malou from Stage 2 and Yonah, Sarah and Franca from Stage 3.
Each term, teachers recognise students who consistently embody the school values—being kind, active learners, safe, and respectful—and who wear their school uniform correctly and with pride.

Personal Belongings
As the term finishes, please make sure to take home all your personal items, such as scooters, bikes, lunchboxes, and drink bottles. Also, please check the lost property as unclaimed items will be recycled or disposed of over the holidays.
Are you returning in 2026?
If you haven't yet, please complete this form to let us know your intentions for next year. Please complete one for each child currently attending the school. Year 6 don't need to respond.
Week 10 Update

Public Speaking Final - Kindergarten & Stage 1
Congratulations to Sash in Kindergarten and Freya in Stage 1 for proudly representing our school at the Metropolitan Public Speaking competition network final 2025 this week. We are thrilled to celebrate Sash’s achievement in winning second place in the Kindergarten category. Well done to both students for their confidence and excellent efforts in prepared and impromptu speeches!
Year 1 Mathematics
In Year 1, students have been enthusiastically exploring the concept of measurement as part of their mathematics learning. They have been hands-on with a variety of activities that help them to begin to explore standard units of length, like 1m is 100cm. Through fun and engaging tasks, the children are developing their skills in comparing sizes, ordering items, and using simple measuring tools. This foundational experience not only builds their numeracy skills but also encourages curiosity and practical problem-solving, making measurement an exciting part of their learning journey.

Year 6 Camp
Early this morning, an excited group of Year 6 students headed off to Tea Gardens for a three day outdoor adventure camp. They'll spend the next few days in a range of activities including canoeing, raft making, the giant swing and mud world. From the photos they sent back today, they're already having a great time.

Netball Finals Wrap-Up
What a weekend for our Bondi Beach PS netballers at the ESCPSNA finals. A huge congratulations to our Year 6 Manta Rays, who took out the Grand Final, defeating the Clovelly Swifties 23–15. What a way to finish the season!
Our Year 6 Breakers also had a fantastic game, going down fighting but loving every moment of their last season together. We’re so proud of all 8 teams from Years 2–6 who represented our school this year. You played with such great spirit, teamwork, and Bondi Beach pride; well done everyone.

Ethics at BBPS
Ethics classes are weekly discussion-based lessons available for students who don’t attend Special Religious Education (Scripture). Students explore topics like fairness, honesty, kindness and making good decisions. They learn to listen to others, think carefully about different ideas and reasons and share their views in a respectful and supportive space.
Find out what ethics classes are all about by registering here for one of the upcoming 1-hour online sessions.
