    From the Relieving Principal

    Are you returning in 2026?

As we head towards the end of the year, it's time to start thinking ahead. To assist us with our planning for 2026, please complete this form to let us know your intentions for next year. Please complete one for each child currently attending the school. Year 6 don't need to respond.

    Festival of the Winds

Our BBPS choir and recorder group will be performing this Sunday 14 September at the Festival of the Winds at Bondi Beach. This is always a lovely event so if you're in the area, drop in and see them perform in front of the pavillion around midday.

    Father's Day Recap

A big thank you to the P&C team for running another successful Father's Day basketball shootout and bowling. It's such a great community event and we were so lucky to have a beautiful day after the last few rainy event days. Good food, fun and music - an excellent way to kick off the Father's Day weekend!

    Week 8 Update

    Cath's Cup Turns 5

We celebrated the 5th year of Cath’s Cup, our exciting lunchtime basketball tournament for Year 3 and 4 students. Over the week 10 teams battled it out on the court showing great teamwork, sportsmanship and skill.

The grand final was held on Friday, and what a game it was! Congratulations to the Golden Swish who edged out The Champions in a thrilling 5–4 victory. A special thank you to Issy and Agnes from the Sydney Flames for joining us as finals mentors – what an inspiration to our young players.

Well done to everyone who took part – we’re already looking forward to next year.

    Senior Classes – Definition Poems

Our senior classes have been exploring the art of definition poems. Students have worked creatively to capture feelings, ideas and experiences in unique and powerful ways. Here are some examples of their wonderful work.

    Public Speaking

1C and KS were very fortunate to have Evie and Henry’s dad visit and share some valuable tips and skills about public speaking. Students had the chance to practise these strategies straight away by giving an impromptu talk on oceans. To top it off, everyone was excited to try on his barrister’s wig. Thank you, Liam, for sharing your time with us.

    Premier’s Debating Challenge – Knockout Round 2

The Bondi Beach Breakers have wrapped up their season in the Premier’s Debating Challenge after an outstanding run. In Round 2 of the Knockout Finals on Tuesday, our team debated against Hurstville Public School on the topic “That students who receive unsatisfactory reports should have to do extra classes over the holidays.”

The Breakers took the affirmative side and argued their case with skill, teamwork and confidence. While the result didn’t go our way, finishing in the top eight schools in the region is an incredible achievement.

We are so proud of the commitment, preparation, and passion our debating team has shown throughout the competition. Congratulations, Breakers, on an amazing season!

    Premier's Reading Challenge

A reminder that the NSW Premier's Reading Challenge closes on Friday 19 September.

    Sport

    Sports Photo Day

Sports Photo Day is next Tuesday 16 September. If your child played PSSA this season, please can they bring in their washed sports uniform for the day and return it to their sports teacher after the photos.

    P&C

    Father’s Day Morning – What a Morning!

A huge thank you to all our amazing volunteers who helped make Father’s Day Morning such a success! From the early morning set-up to the busy food table, the bowls, hoops, ticket table, and raffle team — your help and good vibes were so appreciated 🙌🏽. It was wonderful to look out over the playground and see our school community come together in the morning sun ☀️.

Congratulations to all our raffle winners! A big thanks also goes to our generous local business community for providing such epic prizes.

Thank you to our wonderful school staff, The Hive, and Canteen for their support in helping our events run smoothly - we couldn’t have done it without you.

We hope everyone enjoyed celebrating the rad dads and father figures in your lives, and that you had a brilliant start to the weekend 😊🙌🏽

Note - our next P&C meeting is the AGM, in Term 4, Wednesday 12 November. All are welcome!

    Kids Giving Back

We have just been informed that Ella W should also have been included on the recent list of students who generously volunteered their time with Kids Giving Back. Together with over 1300 young changemakers who prepared and delivered more than 11 500 meals, snack packs, and care packages, along with heartfelt notes of encouragement for those in need. Together, they supported 15 Sydney charities! A remarkable contribution that speaks volumes about the values BBPS instils.
