Education Week Open Morning
What a pleasure to welcome so many parents and carers to our school on Tuesday for the Public Education Week open classrooms and assembly. Our students truly value the opportunity to share their learning experiences with family and significant others. It was wonderful to see parents and children actively engaged in collaborative class activities.
Our performing arts groups showcased their talents, captivating the parents and carers who attended. It's always a special occasion for our students to perform for such an encouraging audience.
Thank you all for joining us and contributing to our celebrations.

Week 3 Update
Round 4 Debate - What a Match!
On Thursday 31 July, we witnessed a thrilling Round 4 debate between our two talented teams: the Bondi Beach Breakers (Affirmative) and the Bondi Beach Boomerangs (Negative). The topic was:
“That primary schools should organise compulsory games and sports for all kids during the lunch break.”
Both teams presented strong arguments, speaking with confidence, clarity and passion. The Boomerangs raised thoughtful points about student choice and wellbeing, while the Breakers built a powerful case around health and teamwork. It was a close call, but in the end, the adjudicator awarded the win to the Affirmative team — the Bondi Beach Breakers! Congratulations to all speakers for a truly impressive debate. We're incredibly proud of your effort and teamwork.

Stage 3 - Scratch Art
Stage 3 students created artworks inspired by the story Eris from the collection of short stories ‘Tales from Outer Suburbia’ by Shaun Tan.
They designed brightly coloured backgrounds, then painted the 'scratch' layer over the top. Once dry, they scratched away the black layer to reveal their floral designs, showing the colours underneath.

Parents Battle of the Bands
Bondi Battle 2025 is just around the corner, and you wouldn't want to miss an epic night of live music, laughs, and community spirit. Join us for the biggest Thursday night in Bondi at The Beachy (Beach Road Hotel) on Thursday 28 August from 7pm.
Presented by the registered charity Parents Battle of the Bands, this event continues the tradition of bringing school communities together through music, while raising vital funds for schools and the local surf club. Five parent bands from five local public primary schools will go head-to-head, including our very own BBPS parent band, The Distractions. Come cheer them on and help us raise funds for music and performing arts at our school.
Grab your tickets via Parents Battle of the Bands – Bondi Battle 2025 for $32 each + booking fee. Most importantly be sure to select “Bondi Beach Public PS – The Distractions” when booking to ensure BBPS receives the proceeds from your ticket. The more tickets our community purchases, the more funding we receive. The schools that rally the biggest crowd are the true winners. It’s a legendary night of top-notch entertainment and a great way to connect with families across our local school communities. Let’s show up, sing loud, and help BBPS bring it home!
