Mother's and Other's Day Wrap
Last Friday, the P&C hosted the annual Mother's Day Soccer Shootout, which successfully went ahead despite some light rain. The event attracted an excellent turnout, with many mothers and significant others teaming up with their children to compete in the friendly goal-scoring challenge. The shootout was followed by another successful stall with lots of children happily clutching a special gift for mum on Mother's Day. A big thank you to the P&C team for organising another successful community event.

Congratulations to Our Banner Winners
What a fantastic week, with three of our students visiting my office to receive their well-deserved banners. Each student has achieved an impressive total of 27 blue awards, 9 silver awards, and 3 gold awards, all reflecting their commitment to being safe, kind, respectful, and active learners. Well done Emmeline, Blayk and Max - what a remarkable effort and accomplishment!

Walk to School Safely Day Reminder
Just a reminder to our students and families that this Friday is Walk to School Safely Day. This event encourages everyone to walk to school regularly and safely, highlighting the importance of road safety, health, and environmental benefits. It is a wonderful opportunity for children to learn about pedestrian safety while also enjoying some quality one-on-one time with their parents or guardians. Let’s make walking a priority.

Attendance
Even partial absences can negatively impact your child's learning, social development, and overall academic achievment. Missing school, even for a short time, can result in your child missing important lessons, opportunities to interact with peers, and building essential skills. Please help your child to be ready and on time to start the day promptly at 9.00am.
If your child is absent from school for any reason, please let the school office know as soon as possible by email or phone. The department requires schools to document student attendance and reason for absence.
Week 3 Update
Debating Workshop
On Monday, Rose Bay Public School hosted the Sydney Primary Debating Workshop as part of the Premier’s Debating Challenge for Years 5 and 6. Eight of our debating students participated in a full-day program focused on enhancing their debating skills, including constructing arguments, delivering rebuttals, and understanding speakers' roles. This workshop was an excellent opportunity for students to prepare for the Premier’s Debating Challenge. We will be hosting our first debate against Bondi Public School on Wednesday 28 May!

Stage 3 News
Stage 3 students have been enjoying creating Pete Cromer inspired collages this week. They carefully painted the colours needed then cut sections to form the colourful animals.

Fun Run K-2
K-2 will be having their fun run on Wednesday 21 May on the front grass starting at 9.10am. Weather permitting, the students will run circuits of the grass area in class groups. Parents are welcome to attend - this is usually quite a quick event so it's best to be on time!
Stewart House
Thank you to the families who supported Stewart House in the recent donation drive. We raised almost $600 to send to them. Just a reminder that if you returned a donation in an envelope, the draw is next Friday 23 May.
Students who are Unwell
With the sudden change in weather during the last few weeks, we are seeing an increase in illness in the community. For the safety and well-being of all students and staff, please keep your child at home if they are unwell.
Have your Details Changed?
If you have a new address, email or phone number, please let the school office know so you continue to receive school communications and we can contact you if required.
Sport
Last Friday with the weather holding off and lots of excitement, the PSSA season commenced. Results from all matches are listed below.

Mother's Day Event & Stall
What a great morning we had at the Mother’s Day event last Friday before school!
A big thank you to the early morning set-up crew and our wonderful food bar helpers who got the day off to such a smooth start. Hats off as well to the ticket and raffle sales team, who didn’t crack under pressure and kept everything running like clockwork. And of course, a huge shout out to the incredible Shoot Out crew led by Coach Matt, who joined the chaos and bravely faced the flying balls — the kids absolutely loved it. Congratulations to all our lucky raffle winners, the sharp-shooting Shoot Out champions, and the lucky girl who nailed the Lolly Guess! Once the parents headed off, it was time for the much-loved Mothers & Others Gift Stall. A heartfelt thank you to the Gift Stall Team, who put together such a beautiful stall with so much care and attention. It was heartwarming to see how much time and thought the children put into choosing just the right gift. Events like this truly show how many hands make light work, and one of the best parts of volunteering is getting to know other parents beyond the quick hello at the school gate.
Thank you to our School Staff, Johnny and the Depot Team, The Hive, and Canteen for their Support. High fives to ALL our wonderful volunteers!
Note, our next P&C meeting will be tonight at 7pm Wednesday 14 May, in the school staff room.

Canteen Update
If your child is involved in PSSA sport, your child can order lunch AND recess items at recess time. This means, pies, pasta, schnitzel wraps, empanadas, cheese triangles are all on offer to eat at the recess break, or to eat at a later time.
For all other students, i.e. those who do tennis or sport rotation, the ordering is as per normal and collected at the usual time.
Friday recess and lunch special is now a delicious beef pie.
Our delicious homemade apple and cinnamon puffs are back! Available every recess.
We also have our beef rissole wrap with the option of pesto, tasty cheese, tomato or BBQ sauce.
Thank you to all our wonderful customers,
Mel, Nicky and Bel
