Peaceful Kids - Mindfulness & Positive Psychology Program
The Peaceful Kids program is a mindfulness and positive psychology based program to lessen anxiety and stress and increase resilience in children. This program helps children to build their emotional resilience so they are better equipped to deal with the day to day stresses that life brings them. At BBPS, our school counsellor will be running small group Peaceful Kids sessions each term for the rest of the year (approximately 8 weeks) starting next term with Stage 3. Teachers or parents may nominate a student/child to participate in the program.

Congratulations Kai!
It was a pleasure to hand another of our students his banner today and shake his hand for an excellent effort in acheiving three gold awards and earning a banner. This is a substantial achievement and means that Kai has been consistently meeting our school expectations of being a safe, kind, respectful active learner.
Parent/teacher/student Conferences
This week, our teachers are holding the parent/teacher/student conferences. If you didn't make your appointment before the website closed last Friday, please email the teacher to make an appointment.

5 Reasons Kids Don’t Seek Help with Tricky Friendships
Parent: “How was school today?”
Kid: “Good.”
Parent: “What did you do?”
Kid: “Nothin.”
How many parents have had this conversation with their kids? When it comes to challenging friendships, the reality is kids do not always tell their parents if they’ve had a Friendship Fire® with a friend, or they’re dealing with an up-and-down friend, or they’re having trouble making friends. Instead, they often suffer in silence.
So, why do kids keep their friendship issues private? Here are some of the reasons why:
- Your child is worried you’re going to freak out
- Your child is embarrassed
- Your child knows it sounds silly or trivial
- Your child is so tuned in to you they know if you’re stressed so they protect you
- Your child is worried you’ll take away their device
So what can you do to encourage your child to open up and share freely with you? Follow this link to find out more.
Week 10 Update
Year 1 Literacy
Year 1 have been reading the Book of Amazing Animals by Eric Carle. His technique of textured painted paper and collage inspired us to create our own animals from cut out paper. Aren't they colourful and creative!

Kindergarten Science
This term, Kindergarten has been exploring how daily and seasonal changes affect our lives. Students investigated what materials provide shelter and protection from changing weather. They worked together in groups to design and make a shelter to protect an animal, using their creativity, problem-solving skills, and real-world thinking to build a weather-ready structure. They tested their structure to see if it would protect a teddy bear from the weather (sun, rain and wind)
