Welcome BBQ Recap
The annual welcome BBQ on Friday, 14 March, was a great success! The weather was perfect, and we had a large number of our families in attendance. Everyone enjoyed the good food and fun activities for the children, making it a wonderful evening of community spirit.
A huge thank you to the P&C organising team, led by Amy M, for their hard work in making this event happen.

Harmony Week and the International Day for Elimination of Racial Discrimination
This week is Harmony Week and on Friday 21 March, we will be celebrating Harmony Day and observing the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. This important day calls on us to reflect on the ongoing struggle against racism and to promote equality and inclusion within our school and beyond.
Throughout the week, we will engage in activities that celebrate diversity, foster understanding, and encourage discussions about the importance of being inclusive in our daily lives.
A reminder that we are asking all children on Friday to wear an orange accessory and bring in a gold coin. This event is being organised by the school SRC and the money collected will be donated to Stewart House.
Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences
An email went out earlier this week to say that teacher/parent/student conferences will be conducted this term from 31 March to 4 April. This is an opportunity for you and your child to set goals and discuss expectations with the teacher.
The appointment scheduling site is now open. Click here for access. If your child is in a class with two teachers (2JP or 4MB) please make an appointment with ONE teacher, not both teachers.
If you prefer to hold the conference via phone, please indicate this in the notes section when making your booking.
Week 8 Update
Kindergarten and their Buddies
Kindergarten and their Year 6 buddies worked together to decorate crowns in preparation for Harmony Day on Friday. Through this collaborative activity, students embraced the spirit of inclusivity and belonging. Kindergarten can’t wait to wear their crowns and showcase their understanding that everybody belongs.

Stage 3 Maths Groups
Stage 3 are enjoying working in their maths groups. These groups are organised so that students change rooms and teachers for the lesson. This supports our Stage 3 students to prepare for high school. This week our focus is fractions and students are learning to identify and order fractions. Take a look at the image of one of the activities they have been working on.

Year 2 Recorder Rocks 🎵
The Music Room has been a hive of activity on Wednesdays with our Year 2 recorder group showing great commitment and enthusiasm and already starting to play some well known tunes. These musicians are rehearsing for events later in the year including Festival of the Winds. Our group is still open to Year 2 students who would like to join. Register here or contact Mr West at school for any enquiries about the program.
Sport
Year 3-6 Non PSSA Sport
A reminder for Year 3-6 parents to please complete this form for students who are not participating in PSSA. Your response is due on Friday 28 March.

Welcome BBQ
What a great Welcome BBQ that was!
A big thanks to the core crew of fabulous Year 1 parents; Amy M, Janson, Emmie, Kate and Amy J who pulled the event together so seamlessly. Thank you to Gene, Buddy and Sonny for the beautiful Welcome to Country. We had an incredible set up crew; Mike, Jal, Nicole, Haline, Leah, Laura G, Portia, Dave, Nina, Julianne, Nicholas and Matthew who sprung into action on Friday afternoon. Thanks to the team on the BBQs, and Nick G, Henry and the super stars who managed crowd control at the bouncy castle, and to all those awesome people who pitched in to help clean up. Many hands really do make light work!
A big shout out to the team at The Hive, our wonderful School Staff, our Relieving Principal Debbie Brandon and the Canteen for their support and help on the day.
And I think we all enjoyed the food this year! A big thank you to our community partners, The Depot, Macelleria, Shuk and Harris Farms - your involvement really is appreciated!
