    From the Relieving Principal

    New Playground Equipment Opening

It's been a bit of a wait but with fingers crossed, the new equipment should be open for use on Friday. We're all very excited to be able to use it and are scheduling some extra sessions for classes to have a play and practice safe use of the new equipment.

A big thank you to the P&C who funded the new equipment - it's been a while in the planning and execution but it will be a greatly appreciated addition to the playground.

    Late Arrivals/Absences

If your child arrives late to school in the morning, please remind them to come to the school office to get a late note. This will ensure their attendance is marked correctly.

Please email the office by 10am to let us know if you child will be absent from school, as text message notifications will be sent for all unexplained absences.

    Week 5 Update

Kindergarten have been on an adventure! We’ve been reading We’re Going on a Bear Hunt and learning to retell the story through actions. To help us sequence events, we created story maps and even added our own innovation to the story by going on a Principal Hunt!

Through roleplay, creative activities, and exploration, students have had a fantastic time using their imagination, working together, and bringing the story to life in exciting ways.

    URSTRONG

URSTRONG is one of the social-emotional programs taught across K-6. By providing students with consistent language and strategies, URSTRONG helps create a school culture that promotes positive mental health, well-being and kindness through the lens of friendship skills.

URSTRONG teaches students what's normal in a friendship and the difference between healthy and unhealthy friendships. We call it becoming a friendship ninja. Friendship ninjas know how to put out friendship fires, and how to combat mean-on-purpose behaviour by using their quick comebacks. Friendship ninjas can get their friendships back in the green zone by taking steps to talk it out and they also understand that friendships can change - and that's OK too.

Here are the four basic friendship facts.

    P&C

Your awesome Class Parents for 2025 either have, or are in the process of setting up the Class WhatsApp Groups. We were very lucky this year, many lovely parents & carers offered to be class parents - and for that the school and I are very grateful!

Only four classes are without a class parent - 1C, 1M, 3/4L & 4C - so if you are interested in taking on this role and being the glue between your teacher and your fellow parents please reach out to me directly. It is a great way to get to know other parents and your child’s teacher, and be involved in the school community. If you would like to read more about the role look here Class Parents on P&C website

Please be assured that these groups are completely closed and private, they are intended only for the parents and carers of children in each individual class and it is your class parent that holds your contact details. If you have not consented they will not include you, as it is always your prerogative to opt out of communication with other parents & carers.

If you still wish to opt in, the link is still open. I encourage you to complete the signup form as it makes things infinitely easier for your class parents and teachers - and it limits the confusion of having multiple groups and scattered school information.
